A conversation with Charity Collier, a mindfulness meditation expert teacher and addiction counselor.
Episode 7 [part one]
From personal transformation to changing lives, our guest Charity Collier has done both. She helps people on their journey of self-discovery. Working as a licensed addiction counselor and meditation teacher in the US prison system she serves a greater cause helping incarcerated individuals heal from the trauma and stress of prison life. She also works with everyday people in the free world teaching them meditation and mindfulness techniques. We covered a lot of ground so the interview has been split into 2 parts, I hope you’ll join us for both.
In part one we discuss how she came to work as a mindfulness professional and her work in the prison system. In part two we explore the meaning of mindfulness meditation and its benefits.
Trauma happens to people in so many different ways including being incarcerated in the prison system.
In the seventh episode of Conscious Life Space’s Conversations, Charity Collier shares the story of her personal journey of discovery that ultimately led her to become one of the first 10 people in the United States to receive a Master’s degree in Mindfulness Meditation. We discuss her journey from adolescence to professional addiction counselor and, meditation expert. With her knowledge and expertise, she serves not only the greater good – society as a whole – but each individual that she works with supporting them on their own personal journey of discovery and healing. Join me in conversation with Charity to get inspired and #learnwithme.
We talk about how her experience of another culture as a young adult enabled her to slow down and unwittingly practice mindfulness, her work with men in prison, tools that she uses to help people heal from trauma and stress, our true voice vs. the addiction voice, and so much more.
